COMPANY: MANUFACTURER OF GRANITE KITCHEN WORKTOPS
SCOPE OF PROJECT: Personal monitoring of 4 operatives.
DETAIL: Monitoring was completed for both respirable crystalline silica and total inhalable dust to determine the operator exposure levels. The Occupational Hygiene Report detailed the operator exposure levels, whether these exceeded the associated workplace exposure limits. Recommendations were detailed regarding working practices, the use of LEV to reduce operator exposure and, as a last resort, the provision of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) to the operators.
Legionella Risk Assessments
INDUSTRY: PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
COMPANY: MANAGING AGENT
SCOPE OF PROJECT: Completion of legionella risk assessment at 34 properties
DETAIL: The project included scheduling of the visits to undertake the risk assessments, the completion of the reports detailing recommendations to ensure that the control of legionella at each property is maintained. The project included the provision of schematics for the properties indicating both the domestic hot and cold water supply.
COMPANY: MANUFACTURER OF AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS
SCOPE OF PROJECT: Completion of statutory 14 month LEV examinations
DETAIL: All of the company’s 25 systems were examined to determine whether satisfactory control of the hazardous substance generated by the process is being provided and to highlight any areas of concern that require addressing to improve control. In terms of implementation, guidance was given regarding log books and user manuals to ensure systems are maintained and used correctly.

DETAIL: A full review of all current procedures, risk assessments and methods statements. Support provided on the completion of suppliers’ health and safety questionnaires. Review of current training requirements and identification of areas in which additional training would be beneficial.
